Responsibilities

The Associate Provost for Student Success reports to the Provost and works collaboratively with Vice Presidents, Vice Provosts, Deans, Department Heads, Directors, faculty and staff to ensure the successful implementation of university-wide student success goals.

The Associate Provost for Student Success also leads and manages University efforts to increase the retention of students of color. In addition, the Office works to enhance the University's environment to foster greater multiculturalism.

In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities, the Associate Provost for Student Success also provides leadership to increase the recruitment and retention of minority and women faulty and staff. It is believed that enhancing faculty and staff diversity will improve the campus climate for all, especially minority students.

Improving the campus climate is a primary objective of our office. The APSS will work with faculty, staff and students to identify campus climate issues and develop strategies to solve them.
